Description: 

The English Language Learner (ELL) aide is responsible for assisting ELL instructors in daily classroom activities. ELL classroom aides work under the supervision of a licensed teacher. 

 

Work Schedule: 

January - May 2025 

Hours: 8:30am - 3pm 

Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 

 

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities 

• Teaching: Assisting with instruction for individuals or small groups, and using appropriate materials and strategies 
• Preparing: Helping to prepare instructional materials, classroom displays, and activities 
• Assessing: Administering assessments and collecting student data 
• Reporting: Preparing reports and providing feedback to the teacher 
• Supporting: Supporting the ELL teacher with non-instructional duties, such as student supervision 
• Maintaining: Maintaining a positive learning environment and organizing resources
• Clerical: Performing clerical duties as assigned 
• Enrolling: Assisting with enrolling new students who don't speak English 

Qualifications: Education 

• Bachelor’s degree in education recommended, but not required

Qualifications: Experience 

• Adult and English Language Learner (ELL) teaching experience preferred.
• Spanish or French proficiency preferred but not required.
• Cultural competence in working with diverse populations, including communities of color, immigrants and persons of various ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, health status, and abilities.

Salary: 

$20/hr
